Well it has been a funny old start to the 2020 wedding season hasn’t it? Not quite the “best year ever” that the New Years Eve optimism professed it to be. And yet here we are, each and every one of us dealing with a pandemic. So I thought it about time to post my current plans, procedures and hopefully reassurances to my wedding couples. So far 2020 is one wedding under the belt with another two this weekend, one at St Audries Park Wedding Venue & one at The Green, Weddings in Cornwall, followed by the forth wedding of the year a week Saturday back at The Green and swiftly followed by 11 weddings in April and 14 in May. My current intention is to photograph each and every one of those 28 weddings and onward and upward into June, July, August & September. This decision is ultimately in the hands of the UK Government, the venues and the couples. All of the plans that not only the couples have put in place but also all of their guests, the logistics alone would be a nightmare if they have to reschedule, but if they are left with no choice due to implementation of an enforced ban on weddings (or on social gatherings so small that most would rather postpone) then I want to help with that transition as best I can. I will be offering, subject to availability, rescheduled dates to those forced to cancel their wedding by law. In an unprecedented turn of events suppliers, couples and even the government are stumbling around trying to think on their feet to a developing situation that is out of our hands.
My current Covid-19 mission statement to my couples is as follows.
To make myself available anytime via text/phone/email/Skype to talk through any worries or concerns you have over your wedding.
To use best health and hygiene practices to keep myself and my customers safe.
To avoid all unnecessary out of work social contact, therefore minimising the risk of me getting Covid-19.
In the event that I do become infected I will implement my usual practise of arranging a cover photographer for your wedding day.
To offer (subject to availability) rescheduled dates for weddings forced by law to cancel, and to make this transition as stress-free as possible.
I hope this makes my current position and plans clear and is helpful. This is a very stressful time for all of my couples and I want to be here to support, help and offer as much practical advice as I can.
Please, if you have any questions or worries do not hesitate to contact me via email, text or phone.
Look after each other and most importantly stay positive.
